Ahead of Singles’ Day, microblogging platform Weibo has added an ecommerce feature. This is a very interesting development because not only will it see Weibo utilise its relationship with Alibaba, but it may also prove to be a monetisation strategy that is actually effective for microblogging platforms, and one that Twitter should take note of.
