Conclusions: Our overall survival appears slightly better than what previously reported in a large Italian population (median survival 9.8 mo.; 95% CI:9.4-10.1). Our data confirm an association between younger age at diagnosis and longer survival following the diagnosis of MM, and the better prognosis of the epithelioid histotype. Patients diagnosed more recently showed a better outcome, suggesting an improvement in therapeutic modalities. (Source: European Respiratory Journal)
